Building a Brighter Future, One Smile at a Time: Meet the Lapointe Foundation

At MillTown, we believe that when you lift up a child, you lift up the whole community. That’s why we’re thrilled to introduce one of this month’s Helping Hands contestants: The Lapointe Foundation, a grassroots nonprofit with a big heart and even bigger dreams.

Why They Do It

Founded by Jacob Lapointe in honor of his late mother, Darlene—“the woman who did the impossible”—the Lapointe Foundation is built on a simple but powerful mission: to give kids in our local communities the kind of support, encouragement, and fun that can shape a lifetime. From financial literacy and entrepreneurship classes to epic Easter egg hunts and back-to-school events, they’re creating safe spaces for kids to grow, learn, and just be kids.

Small Foundation, Powerful Impact

In just two years, the Lapointe Foundation has already:

  • Awarded $5,000 in scholarships 🎓
  • Hosted an annual Canobie Lake Park trip 🎢
  • Delivered Christmas gifts to families in need 🎁
  • Partnered with local schools and housing organizations
  • Brought smiles to families facing serious challenges

One parent’s heartfelt note says it all:

“I wanted to send you a note to say thank you! Thank you for giving my two children high price items this holiday season. With my spouse’s cancer diagnosis and not being able to keep our heads above the water they would never have been able to get the toys they wanted. They were beyond excited on Christmas morning and have used the printer and played with the doll daily! Thank you for putting a smile on my children’s faces this past Christmas.”

And their vision is only growing. Their ultimate dream?

To transform an old building into a “one-stop shop” for youth development—a safe haven filled with mentorship, education, daycare, and more.

How Can You Help?

Right now, you can support their work with just one click:

👉 Vote for the Lapointe Foundation in our July Helping Hands contest: https://milltownplumbing.com/about-us/helping-hands/

The nonprofit with the most votes by Friday, July 25 at midnight will receive a $1,000 donation from MillTown to fuel their mission. That money could mean more classes, more joy, and a stronger community for everyone.

How to Become a Sponsor

From simply sharing their website and social media to allowing them to promote events at your business, the Lapointe Foundation is always looking for new sponsors and supporters. If you’d like to get involved, they’d love to hear from you!

And if you want to go a step further, the Foundation is always welcoming volunteers, donors, and kind-hearted neighbors who want to make a difference.

Every little bit helps—and every smile counts.
